27 Weeks!!

I am 27 weeks pregnant today! Where has the time gone? We are still working on the nursery and it is really starting to come together.  I will post some pictures when we get a little closer to finishing it.  We are getting more and more excited about the arrival of our baby boy!!  I have gained a total of about 18 pounds now.  A friend of mine told me about Publix Baby Club.  I had no idea what it was, but I started looking into it and  it's FREE!  I signed up a couple of weeks ago online and yesterday I received a huge book by the American Academy of Pediatrics and tons of coupons to use at Publix.  They will also send a newsletter every 3 months with information and tips about parenting and continue to send coupons until your baby is 2 years old.  I am so glad that I signed up for this!  According to the website that I am following, Logan is the size of a head of cauliflower this week (about 2 pounds).  He is likely about 14 1/2 inches long by now.  He is sleeping and waking throughout the day and his brain is becoming more and more active each day.  Here is my belly picture for the week!!

26 Weeks

I am 26 weeks pregnant today!!  Only 99 days to go!!  We can't believe that I am this far along already!  Things are starting to get real for us.  There have been several times that Richard and I looked at each other and said, "We are going to have a BABY!!"  We are so excited to meet our little Logan.  We spent several hours today registering at Babies"R"Us and Target for all sorts of baby things.  We had no idea that there were so many things that babies need and so many different choices out there, but we had a lot of fun picking things out.  We are still working on the nursery.  Pictures to come, eventually!  According to the website that I follow, Logan is the length of a cucumber (about 14 inches long).  He weighs around a pound and two-thirds.  He can now hear voices.  He is inhaling and exhaling tiny amounts of amniotic fluid to help with his lung development.  We can't wait for him to get here!!!  Here is my belly picture for the week!

25 Weeks!!

I am 25 weeks pregnant today!! It is crazy to think that we are already in the third trimester! We are getting more and more excited about meeting Baby Logan!  We got his crib and changing table for his nursery on Monday and put it together that night.  Once we got it all put together in his nursery, things began to feel so much more real for us! (Yes, I did tear up a little because we are so excited!)  We still have some decorating to do for the walls, but at least he has furniture now.  According to the website that I am following, Logan is the size of a rutabaga this week.  I wasn't exactly sure what a rutabaga was, so I had to google it.  It turns out that a rutabaga is a cross between a turnip and a cabbage.  The baby weighs about a pound and a half and measures about 13 1/2 inches in length.  He is starting to get some baby fat on him.  He is also growing hair now.  Here is my belly picture for the week!

Test Results

When I was at the doctor's office yesterday, the nurse told me that they would have my test results from both the glucose test and the iron levels by Thursday.  She told me that she would only call me if there was something that I needed to know.  So, basically no news would be good news.  My phone rang this afternoon and immediately my stomach did a flip.  The good news is that I passed my glucose test!!! The not so great news is that my iron levels are a little low.  It is very common in pregnancy and is treated with an extra iron supplement.  I just have to add a little extra iron in addition to my multivitamin.  We were just relieved that I passed the glucose test!

24 Weeks

I am 24 weeks pregnant today!!  We went for my 24 week appointment this morning.  I had to do my glucose test to check for diabetes, which I was not looking forward to.  I had to drink 10 ounces of this really sweet orange drink, which actually tasted like Kool-Aid with lots of sugar.  It really wasn't as bad as I had expected it to be.  I had to have blood work done to check my glucose level and to also check my iron level.  I should know the results by tomorrow sometime.  Fingers crossed that both levels are within normal limits.  I have gained a total of 15 pounds now.  Logan's heartbeat today was in the 150s and sounded great!  We are still both amazed at the sound of his little heartbeat each time we go to the doctor's office.  According to the website that I am following, Logan is almost a foot long, or about the size of an ear of corn.  He will soon start to fill out and plump up.  His brain and taste buds are growing and developing rapidly now.  His lungs are also developing and preparing for the outside world.

Richard and I picked out Logan's bedding this past week!! We can't wait to get some furniture and start getting the nursery together!!  Here is a picture of his bedding and my belly picture for the week.

23 Weeks!!

I am 23 weeks pregnant today!! I can't believe that I am already this far along! My belly is growing bigger and bigger each day.  I have gained about 14 pounds now.  I am finally to the point that people aren't afraid to ask when I am due.   Logan is very active right now and I am able to feel his little kicks throughout the day, which I love!  Richard is amazed at how he can feel Logan kicking.  I was actually able to see my belly move from the outside this morning when he did one of his powerful kicks.  We are still trying to pick out a theme for the nursery so that we can get started decorating.  According to the website that I am following, Logan is the size of a mango this week (about 11 inches long and over a pound).  His ears are preparing for entry into the world.  He can hear loud noises and is becoming familiar with voices. Here is my belly picture for the week!

I have to go next week for my 24 week appointment where I will have to do the glucose test to check for diabetes.  Say a prayer that everything goes well!!
