Our Adventurous Day

Saturday didn't go as we had planned, to say the least!  Logan absolutely loves water, so we decided that we would take him to Richard's aunt and uncle's house to their pool.  The weather had been a little crazy, but Saturday morning was gorgeous.  We got Logan all lathered down in sunscreen and dressed in his swim trunks, swim shirt, hat and sunglasses.  When we got there, he wasn't sure what to do with all the water, but he got used to it very quickly.  He loved being in the pool!  He didn't mind being splashed and even stuck his face in the water.  He had gotten out of the pool for a minute and was walking around and stumbled and tripped over a stone paver by the pool.  He didn't hit the ground all that hard, but he hit the paver in just the wrong place.  He had a cut between his right eye and nose.  He cried, and, of course, we all went running.  He was bleeding a little.  When he stopped crying and we were able to look at the cut, we realized that it was pretty deep.  We were in a panic!  We called the pediatrician's office and were told that they didn't do stitches at their office on the weekends, so they referred us to Children's Hospital ER downtown.  We got to the ER and the nurse looked at his cut and said that he would probably have to have a couple of stitches.  The doctors agreed that it would be best to go ahead and put a couple of stitches in and close it up.  All the nurses and doctors were great!  We were in and out of the ER in about an hour and twenty minutes.  Logan was playing like normal by that afternoon.  It definitely wasn't how we had planned for his first pool day to go!! Here are some pictures from before the accident.
